This is a defensive action whose aim is to lessen the impact of the opponent's attack in order to riposte later. It consists of accompanying the opponent's blow, rather than seeking a direct dodge.
Sweeping is a term used in many different styles of fighting, and consists of throwing the opponent off balance or causing him to fall. It is performed by sweeping the opponent's support point with the leg.
Also known as a "parade", the blocking is a defensive move in which you use part of your body to stop a blow from your opponent.
Some boxers are very lively in their shift. The aim of framing is to counter this. Its aim is to deprive the opponent of his freedom of movement, so that he cannot gain the upper hand.

Unlike the "step back", this movement of the torso allows you to evade an opponent's attack while remaining in close combat. It also allows you to recover directly when you bring your torso back - Floyd Mayweather is an expert in this technique.
This is a form of training in which the two combatants set the rules, and the aim is to hit without the intention of causing injury. The sparring is very often used when preparing for a fight. The term sparring partner refers to the partner with whom you do the boxing training.

In boxing, a combo allows you to counter or attack your opponent! Now that you've familiarised yourself with the various strikes used in boxing, it's time to look at some combinations that will enable you to make the difference!
One important thing to remember for effective combos: your arm movements must be accompanied by your body movements! It's essential for delivering power and becoming formidable in hand-to-hand combat!
At the Circle, we use 6 classic boxing shots: jab, cross, etc. in short, you already know them now... In English boxing we use the legs only to be stable on our supports, to send the rotation of the hips and to stay in movement with the step back, side step, etc.
If you want to move on from theory to practice, come and try out the Cercle's aqua-bags to make sure you've got it right. During a 50-minute workout, you'll alternate between boxing movements on an aqua-bag and muscle strengthening! In simple terms, you'll be working on your technique and your muscles! If there's one piece of advice we can give you, it's to arrive energised and determined!
